MICHAEL A. MILLER
Mike enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 1973 and served on active duty until April 1977. After attending boot camp in San Diego he was assigned to Camp Pendleton for infantry training.
After completion of basic training Mike served with the following units.
29 Palms: as a Field Radio Operator for L Co., 9th Comm Bn 9/73 - 7/74 and as a Combat Engineer with A Co. 7th Engr Bn. 7/74 - 5/75.
Kaneohe Bay: Combat Engineer - Admin Clerk with A Co. 3rd Engr. Bn., 1st MarBde FMF 5/75 - 4/76 and as the Assistant Admin Chief for Maint. Co. BSSG 1st MarBde FMF 4/76 - 4/77. He was Meritoriously promoted to Sergeant E5 in 7/76.
He was discharged in April 77 as a Sgt E-5 with the National Defense & Good Conduct ribbons with the Rifle Expert 2nd Award and Pistol Expert marksmanship awards.
After discharge Mike worked as a steel erector in VT and NM until he began a career in the insurance field in 1984. He is a self employed Financial Planner and a Registered Representative with the Sunset Financial Services as his Broker Dealer. Recently he was named the Kansas City Life Insurance Company "Agent Of The Month for February 2010". Since 1996, Mike has been honored by KCL as one of the top 50 producers 12 of the last 14 years.
